So today he was at Fenway for a press event with some 150 reporters from every major news outlet asking him a million questions. They are making this guy out to be the real deal and as a red sox fan, hope he is. In Japan he became a pitching legend in high school during their national tournament. In three days time he pitched a 250 pitch complete game in the quaterfinals, captured a save in the semifinals the next day and the day after that threw a no hitter in the finals, all on national tv. Lets not forget his dominating stats in the World Baseball Classic, 3-0 and WBC MVP. Sick. However given the history of past Boston Golden Boy signee's lets hope he doesnt turn into another Len Bias.
Prediction: 12 - 7, 3.23 ERA
Bernard Hopkins
The man himself. He is probably one of my favorite boxers in recent memory is s
cheduled to fight Winky Wright on July 21st. Wrights name is often thrown around as one of the top 2-3 pound for pound fighters in the world and will definetly be a challenge for a 42 year old Hopkins who is coming off a dominating performance against Antonio Tarver. This could be a very intersting yet long fight as both boxers are not known for their knockout power but their quick jabs and ability to wear down their opponents. Im going to have to go with B-Hop in a split decision based soley on the fact that he comes into the ring like a cross between Hannibal Lecter, a mexican wrestler and that kid with the beanie from Fat Albert.NBA Allstar Game in Vegas
Does anyone care?
